Carpenter

Overview

To carry out all carpentry-related tasks including repair, fabrication, installation, and finishing of
wooden fixtures and furniture across the property. Ensures that all wooden assets are maintained in
good condition, guest areas meet brand standards, and operational needs are supported efficiently.

Job Responsibilities:

Carpentry Maintenance & Repair
• Repair or replace damaged wooden items such as doors, frames, cabinetry, panels, furniture, drawers, and counters.
• Fix broken hinges, locks, handles, latches, runners, and shelving systems.
• Restore loose joints, broken structures, or warped surfaces as required.
Fabrication & Installation
• Build wooden fixtures and units based on design or line manager instructions (shelves, panels, partitions, etc.).
• Assemble and install cabinets, vanities, wardrobes, and decorative elements.
• Take accurate measurements and cut materials with proper tools.
• All technical positions should include a few basic operational tasks they will be trained on, enabling them to handle shifts independently, such as changing lights, turning equipment on and off, supporting operations, etc."
Preventive Maintenance & Finishing
• Perform routine checks on wooden assets across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house.
• Apply polish, varnish, paint, or stain to restore and protect surfaces.
• Sand, level, and finish wood to maintain aesthetic and safety standards.
Door & Fixture Servicing
• Adjust and align doors to close smoothly and securely.
• Install or repair door closers, hinges, locks, and accessories.
• Ensure all carpentry items in guest rooms and public areas are functional and clean.

Event Setup & Support Tasks
• Support setup of temporary structures or panels for functions and events.
• Build or modify custom items for operational or promotional needs.
• Disassemble and relocate furniture safely when needed.
Safety, Tools & Inventory
• Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain them in working order.
• Use PPE and follow safety procedures for carpentry work.
• Maintain inventory of carpentry supplies and report needs for materials or tools.
Reporting & Documentation
• Record work completed, materials used, and issues found into the assigned system.
• Report any non-carpentry issues (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) to the proper technician or line managers.
